A TIME LINE OF THE CABINS
1993
In October, the first two cabins, CEDAR & CALLISTEMON were opened. The top dam was built and now holds 9,000,000 litres of irrigation water when full.
1994
BANKSIA & TWIN-TREE cottages were opened in June. GREVILLEA cottage was opened in October.
1995
The saltwater pool and pergola were finished in November
1996
Two more cottages were finished in time for Easter: ROSE & VINEYARD cottages. A grove of about 400 Olive trees was planted along with a Row of fruit trees including lemons, grapefruit and mandarin.
1997
CASUARINA cottage was finished in September.
1998
The last two cottages were opened for Easter: GUMNUT & BLACKWATTLE.
2018
1,000 Shiraz grapevines were planted behind cabin 9.
2020
Limited Release vintage – Twin Trees Rosé. Produced and harvested a ton of olives.
2022
Awarded Gold Medal and Best in Class for Green Calamata Olives for 2021 from the Hunter Olive Association
CABINS ON HALLS FORMALLY KNOWN AS TWIN TREES WAS ACQUIRED BY THE HARKHAM FAMILY IN 2024 WITH EXCITING PLANS TO RESTORE AND EXPAND THE PROPERTY TO OFFER GUESTS A MORE PERSONAL ACCOMMODATION EXPERIENCE.
Cabins on Halls is situated right behind Harkham’s winery giving guests direct walking access to enjoy Harkham estate and restaurant at their own leisure.
Harkham is a small family owned and operated winery in the Hunter Valley crushing 20-25 tonnes of fruit per year.
Richard Harkham the wine maker aims to produce the highest quality wine all the is fruit handpicked and work in the winery is undertaken with no chemical additions, flavour adjustments, filtration or fining. All the single vineyard wines are bottled on the estate.
Through minimal intervention in the wine making process, Harkham is able to present the amazing terroir driven flavours that the Hunter Valley is renowned for.
HARKHAM RESTAURANT WAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN JULY 2024.
Serving simple yet authentic italian inspired dishes designed to be shared amongst friends. Adding a few special touches to the dining experience means when truffles are in season shavings are on offer, or how about a caviar cart when you're feeling fancy?
